Six markets,
six strategies,
one brand.
Sweden, South Africa, Kuwait, the UAE, Korea and Mexico. Not one playbook translated six times.
This is a method case study. The performance figures for this programme belong to the brand, not to me, so there are none on this page. The law firm case study has the numbers.
The brief
An international iGaming brand operating in six markets at once, in one of the most competitive and most regulated categories in search. Five languages, six sets of competitors, six regulatory realities, and one brand that had to look local in all of them.
The competitors are not the same in any two markets
Sweden’s results are held by long-established local operators. Korea is a different search ecosystem entirely. Mexico is a huge market with heavy competition. The Gulf markets behave differently again. A keyword list built in one market and translated into the others is a list of things you cannot win.
Regulation shapes the content, not just the legal page
What can be said, and to whom, changes per market. Content written once and translated six times fails compliance before it fails ranking.
Language is not the hard part
Translation is cheap. Knowing which Swedish query carries intent and which one is curiosity is not. Mexico needed content written for Mexico, not translated into Spanish.
- A separate strategy per market. Content gap mapping, SERP analysis and structure benchmarking, once per market, to find the angles where the brand could realistically outrank established players.
- An agency producing in five languages, managed to fifteen to twenty new pages a month.
- Every page taken through development to launch, not handed over and hoped for.
- Budgets up to €20K a month across content and external links, allocated by market rather than split evenly.
Technical, across six markets at once
Architecture, hreflang and cross-market setup, indexation, crawl and speed. In a multi-market build hreflang is not a checkbox. It decides whether six versions of a page help each other or compete with each other.
Algorithm updates, in a category Google watches closely
Updates tracked, real impact measured per market, and existing pages adapted proactively instead of waiting to see whether it settled. In this category, waiting is how you lose a quarter.
Where AI came in
AI ran keyword research, competitive analysis and parts of content production. Human review stayed the quality gate for accuracy, originality and brand voice. At five languages and that volume, AI is what makes the work possible. It is not what makes it good.
Why there are no numbers here
There are no numbers on this page, and that is a real limitation. Performance data from that programme is the brand’s to publish, not mine, and I am not going to paraphrase figures I am not free to share. What is here is the method, in enough detail to judge it. If you want a case study with the numbers attached, read the law firm one.
What six markets really means
Six markets is not one project done six times. It is six projects that happen to share a logo.
